He sounds like... himself.

Every time a new musician appears and people start talking about it, I always hear someone give it one of these, "He's a mix between Ben Harper, Jack Johnson, Matthew Good and Coldplay" (the list could arguably go on). Needless to say these people are talking out of their butts, I'm pretty sure that if someone sounds like a mix between anyone then they just sound like themselves. I understand what they're saying but really I believe it's an attempt to make themselves seem more cultured in the music world. Whatever I guess we all want to be someone.

Love that good ol war...

I know a lot of the people (if they were to read this), would have a lot to say about the reasons for war and how it can't be avoided, but I'm simply looking at it from the point of view of an 8 year old child. They can turn on the news and see men firing automatic weapons at each other with intention to neutralize one another, (translation: riddle them with bullets until they stop breathing).

Here are some things a child might asks:

Q- Do kids die in war?
A- Yes they do, soldiers may not aim for kids but you can't tell a bullet who to miss and you can't tell a bomb what to avoid when blowing up the enemy.

Q- Do they all hate us?
A- No, most of them don't but there are a few who do.

Q- When will it be over?
A- Never. Until this world has expired.

I know these answers aren't the kind you would use when talking to a child but the fact is that war is hell and I myself really wish that innocent people in Afghanistan didn't have to go to sleep wondering if they would wake up in the morning. So I guess that's what was on my mind when I designed that little poster.

but we're the suckers who go back for more....

Paramount Canada's Wonderland. It may not be the best theme park out there but its still alot of fun and relatively convenient. There's just one problem though. Where the #@&% do they get off charging the amounts that they do. Ok so if youre just a one time season goer then youre looking at paying probably about 60 dollars for one day trip, now mind you that is just the base price that gets you on the rides. Once youre in the park you might need a locker to hold your stuff because lets face it, everywhere we go we bring a sweater incase its cold, sunscreen and water in case its hot, wallets, cameras, and all the other little things we never go anywhere without. So you go to customer service and ask for a locker key, (figuring maybe 50 cents or 1 dollar at most), umm NOPE!! 11 friggin dollars and 50 cents. Can you believe that. These are not big lockers .. about a foot high and two feet deep. Anyways thats the first thing.
As you know it takes about an hour to get through the line of a decent rollercoaster or other ride, and so youre bound to get hungry, sure you could pack a lunch but it will only be confiscated at the gate where they check your bag. So that means either you leave the park and walk a couple of blocks to eat or to save on time you can pay about 13.00 for a crappy hamburger and some disgusting onion rings. so by now youve spent 85.50 and ridden like three rides for a total of 3 minutes. Well now you want to win your girlfriend a nice stuffed animal that is too big to fit in the car and will be forgotten 5 minutes after getting it home, so you go to the game of your choice, (all of which are rigged to some extension to be much more difficult than it seems), and you pay the $5.00 they ask and when you finally hit the target or whatever and they hand you a plastic bowl with scoody doo on it or something, so you spend about another 10.00 to get the second biggest prize. So now youre tab is up to 95.00 or about 115.00 if you count the gas it took to drive there. AND YOUVE ONLY BEEN ON 3 OR 4 rides and its like 4:00, the park closes in like 3 or 4 hours. So you go on a couple more rides and then drive home.
Now it may sound like I hate wonderland but i dont. I bought a season pass before the season for like 75.00 before the season and im going to make that walk to the restaurant at lunch and i can take the ttc there. And i wont bring alot of stuff so i dont need a locker.
Maybe my only reason for writing this post is because i wanted you to hate wonderland so the line will be just a little shorter for me next time. Chau.
